Raised by his loving mother in a quiet farming village on a sky island colonised by the setting's local evil empire, Sagi grew up believing the voice in his head was a guardian spirit, widely known to appear no more than every few decades and bond with people destined for great things. What he didn't know was that he was experimented on as a baby in the Empire's capital city by scientists attempting to build guardian spirits in a lab, meaning that the entity inside him is actually a small, sentient piece of flesh from the dismembered "wicked god" who corrupted the earth 1000 years ago and drove humanity to live in the sky. What he additionally didn't know was that the experiments were complete disasters, and certain powerful Empire officials were keen to erase all evidence of them once the project was shut down. All Sagi knew as a child was that his mom became sad whenever she thought about the Empire, so the Emperor was probably a horrible man and probably deserved to die.
At the tender age of 14, he ran away from home with his robot childhood friend to join the imperial army, rise up the ranks and assassinate the Emperor that way. This flawless plan somehow failed in spectacular fashion, and for his trouble Sagi immediately got swept up in an enormous political shitshow. Along the way, he travelled the world, got beaten up a lot, started dating a girl, inadvertently caused most of the problems that appear 20 years later in the first game, turned into a small whale, turned into a monster, got better, discovered that the voice in his head secretly had PTSD, killed his girlfriend's father along with some other douchebags, then prevented global nuclear war. After that, he decided to live a quieter life and eloped with his girlfriend to a town in the middle of a dimensional vortex, far away from international politics.
He's taken from not long after this ending, having just begun to settle into his new home with said girlfriend (and the voice in his head, and the decapitated head of his childhood friend).

CRAU: N/A1) He cares deeply for his family, including found family the few times he's managed to make it. 2) He doesn't let an excess of overthinking cloud his strong sense of right and wrong. 3) He maybe, somewhat, kind of thinks that, despite his less than ideal backstory for a hero, he's managed to pull off some feats that were... honestly...... pretty cool......... (loser)
⬥ What do others consider to be your character's worst weakness?
His naive idealism, the motivation for a lot of his more questionable plans and impulse actions; he's a little better at recognising it these days, but his hero instinct is always going to be there. The willingness of various political figures to exploit his sense of justice and make him unknowingly do their busywork were a constant theme in his canon. Even his closest friends are more likely to mitigate the consequences of his naivete than encourage him.
⬥ How does your character interact with others?
The vast majority of the time, he's kind-hearted, slow to anger and always receptive when people seem to need help. He can even come across as a little distant, since he doesn't care much for talking about himself and can never fully rein in his sassy streak, though it's less a deliberate act than just some habits from his vaguely isolated upbringing. However, on the occasions when his emotions do boil over, he becomes pretty indiscriminately outspoken and tends to take a while to cool off again; he is a teenager, after all.
⬥ What motivates or drives your character?
Whether he's doing things directly for them or just abstractly trying to create the kind of environment he thinks they would be happiest in, he ultimately wants what's best for his loved ones, with himself a distant second.
⬥ How does your character spend their free time?
Running errands for basically anyone who asks. When none are available, climbing tall things and people-watching, writing diary entries, thinking about beds, or sleeping. Sleep is great!
⬥ What is your character's greatest wish?
Let his family be safe and happy, forever.
Powers:
⬥ Can use a katana!
⬥ Using magical technology, he can store all manner of inanimate objects in cards called "magnus" and retrieve or empty them easily - these range from mundane objects like water or swords to more abstract bullshit like "chronic fatigue" or "the emotion you experience when hearing a really terrible joke".
⬥ He can use his wings to jump high or fly short distances - no longer than a minute at full strength, and that's pushing it. Human flight is considered actual magic in his canon even though the wings themselves are a physical representation of the soul.
⬥ When awake, the lump of magical corpse meat grafted inside him - termed an "afterling" - has its own independent personality and can speak through Sagi's mouth, using his voice but a softer tone. Sagi calls this secondary personality "Marno" and considers him one of his best friends.
⬥ The afterling can grant physical strength to Sagi's hands and arms for a couple minutes at a time, enough to rip or break metal barehanded without injury.
⬥ The afterling is also capable of hijacking Sagi's body completely and transforming him into a big gangly humanoid monster, but would Really Prefer Not To.
